Early wet meadow indicator on the Eastern Yar floodplain. Bright yellow flowers in marshy ground tells you the shallow margins have lifted into single-figure °C.
Relevance to fishing
Wet-meadow indicator at the riverbank. Coincides with shallow water warming through 6-8°C — the same threshold tadpoles emerge at, and within a few weeks of perch grouping up in marginal weed.
